Last week, I marked this in a book written by a dear friend.
The Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi. Instructions on Peace. As good as it gets.
Please print this and hang it somewhere.
"Lord, make me an instrument of your Peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love.
Where there is injury, pardon.
Where there is doubt, faith.
Where there is sadness, joy.
Oh, Divine Master, grant that I may not seek to be consoled as to console
To be understood as to understand
To be loved as to loved.
For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life."
My brother told me once that in AA, this prayer has an added line:
"In self forgetting, may we find." They put that right before the "And it in dying..." line.
Talk to you tomorrow.
