When asked to describe what Peace was to her, a dear friend of mine said the following:
"Peace=Ease, in every aspect of my life."
"Freedom from worry, releasing my "monkey mind" thoughts, and knowing that in every moment all is well, no matter what the outward appearances."
"When I am at peace, I am free from "dis-ease" and I allow others to experience life in their own way. Namaste"
The word "Namaste" is another word for "the Light/God within me recognizes the Light/God within you."
So let's go over this:
Peace is, in my friend's case:
1) Freedom from worry
2) Releasing the "monkey mind" of preoccupation that often leads to anxiety.
3) Freedom from "dis-ease," specifically, that collective angst/emotional discomfort/physical upset (and their supportive subsets) AND...
4) Seeing/Recognizing/Understanding the Light of God/Love/Peace in another
This is a weighty list. And because my friend has travelled a longer spiritual road than I, these subjects are going to be offered one at a time over the next four days. With her permission and further explanation.
Pretty good foundation, though, don't you think?
