Got a message from my friend Liz. She's got the faith of a saint and just keeps plowing forward. Strong, determined, no B.S. person. Reads everything. Looks you straight in the eye, unblinking, remaining focused and kind.
This morning I received this text, and I thought I'd pass it along to you.
You are holding a cup of coffee. Someone bumps into you or shakes your arm.
The coffee spills everywhere. So here's the question: What made you spill when your cup got bumped? Because somebody bumped into you? Nope.
Because you had coffee in your cup. Had there been tea in your cup, you would have spilled tea.
Here's the point of the analogy: Whatever is inside the cup is what will spill out.
Therefore, when life comes along and shakes you, which will happen, whatever is inside YOU will come out.
So we have to ask ourselves: What's in my cup? When life gets tough, what spills over?
Patience, understanding, ease? Or frustration, anger, and blame?
Please fill your cups with gratitude and joy. No matter what happens, may you always hold the cup with the most peace, love, and happiness.
